Waken

Let the Word move you.

Effective date: September 7, 2026

1. What Waken is

Waken is a daily Catholic devotional app. Each day it offers a passage of scripture, a short reflection, a prayer, and a question to sit with. It is a devotional aid. It is not spiritual direction, not pastoral counselling, and not a substitute for the sacraments or for your parish.

2. Your account

You need an account to use Waken. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Give us an email address you actually use — it is how we would reach you about the account.

One person, one account. Do not share a login.

You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete Account. That removes your profile and your saved devotionals permanently.

3. What you can read

Today's devotional is always free, and always will be.

The archive of past devotionals is part of Waken+. Waken+ is not yet available for purchase — there is no subscription to buy, and we do not take payment of any kind today. Past days you are not entitled to open as a preview: you see the date, the feast, and the scripture, and the reflection, prayer and question are held back.

If and when Waken+ goes on sale, it will be sold and billed by Apple's App Store or Google Play rather than by us, their terms will govern the purchase, renewal and any refund, and these terms will be updated to say so before anything is charged.

4. The content, and what you may do with it

The devotional writing in Waken is ours. Scripture quotations are used under the terms described in the About screen and the privacy policy.

You are welcome to share a devotional with someone — that is what the share button is for, and quoting a passage to a friend is the point of the thing. What you may not do is republish the devotionals in bulk, scrape the archive, or reproduce the collection in another product.

5. Fair use of the service

Do not attempt to break the paywall, access another person's account, or interfere with the service. We may suspend an account that does.

6. Content accuracy

Waken's devotionals are written to be faithful to Catholic teaching, and scripture is quoted from the published text rather than from memory. They are not currently reviewed by an independent theological reviewer before publication, and we would rather tell you that than imply otherwise. If you find an error — theological, scriptural, or factual — please tell us at privacy@getwaken.app. We would rather hear it than not.

7. Availability

Waken is offered as it is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, and we may change or discontinue features. If we ever shut the service down we will give reasonable notice to anyone with an active subscription.

8. Liability

Waken is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not responsible for any loss that follows from the app being unavailable or from an error in its content.

Nothing here limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, where MW Creative Labs LLC is established.

10. Changes

If we change these terms we will update the date above and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
